Travel Directions
Take the Newcastle expressway, travel approx. one hour and take Cessnock turnoff from the freeway. Follow signs into main street of Cessnock (Vincent Street). At the end of Vincent Street take a quick left, then right into Allandale road (Wine Country Drive) - following Braxton and Vineyard signs (you should pass McDonalds on your right). Travel 5.3kms along Wine Country Drive and turn right at that point into Lovedale Rd (golf course will be on the left as you turn into Lovedale Road). Travel along Lovedale Road and another 6kms on you will find our Cottages on Lovedale sign on the right, just before Majors Lane. Drive along our property's road approx 150 meters and you will find our three cottages. Each cottage has a large number (1, 2 or 3) at the rear where the parking is located.
Things To Do
The picturesque Lovedale area of the Hunter Valley is renown for its award winning wines from modern boutique wineries, for our fine restaurants, cafés, galleries and activities from the famous Lovedale Long Lunch, bicycle rides, to hot air ballooning to golf and more. Cottages on Lovedale is an ideal choice for your accommodation when attending major local events such as Opera in the Vineyards and Jazz in the Vines and A Day On The Green just to name a few. We recommend you organise your food supplies before arrival at the Cottages as there are no shops close by. Cessnock has a good range of shops, namely Coles in Cooper St is open from 6am to 10pm Monday to Saturday and 8am to 9pm on Sunday. Woolworths off Cooper St opens from 7am to 10pm Monday to Saturday and from 8am to 9pm on Sunday. Supa IGA on Wollombi Rd opens 7am to 9pm Monday to Friday, 7am to 7pm Saturday & 8am to 6pm on Sunday. In Singleton there is a Woolworths supermarket off John Street and in Branxton on the New England Highway there is an IGA supermarket which are open 7 days a week. General Stores at Pokolbin Village and Hunter Valley Gardens Village Cheese Factories: Hunter Valley Cheese Factory at McGuigan Wines, Bonnorie Dairy at Tuscany Wine Estate and Hunter Valley Smelly Cheese Shop at Tempus Two Winery to taste/buy handmade gourmet cheeses, fresh bread and deli items Many of the wineries have delightful picnic and BBQ areas for lunches There is a large choice of very good wineries, restaurants and cafes and galleries in the Valley.
