Bawley Bush Cottages

101 Willinga Road
Bawley Point
NSW
2539
Lakeside Approximately half way between Batemans Bay and Ulladulla on the NSW south coast. Bawley Bush Cottages is a high quality eco-retreat set on 36 acres just 3km from the beach. We have a function room/celebration space where up to 80 people can be accommodated for a sit-down meal, more for cocktail style. Though we can only accommodate up to 30 event-attenders we have camping space for overflow and locally there is ample high quality overflow accommodation available. If you are looking for secluded holiday accommodation for 2-6 people then Chefs Cottage is the ideal cottage for you; if you are a couple and enjoy water views and open spaces (perhaps you have a dog you want to watch cavort from your deck) then either Cormorant and Oystercatcher Bush Apartments (Seabirds) will suit perfectly; if you are a couple or a family for whom plenty of space is important then either Cafe Cottage or the Cockatoo Room (configured as a cottage) should be thoroughly checked out. Taken together these might suit up to 4 families; if you're a couple or small family on a budget but still want seclusion and romance then Wattlebird Bush Apartment is for you. All of our buildings are similarly finished featuring earth brick or corrugated iron cladding, exposed local hardwood features, internal pine panelling, wood fires, BBQs and comfortable furniture. We think we offer the best eco friendly Function Centre and South Coast Accommodation available. We use sustainable building, water and waste practices. All cottages are set in the bush, well separated from others and have water views or glimpses.

In the bush with lake glimpses, Chef's is our most secluded cottage and certainly the one to book if privacy is important to you. It is a hand-finished 4-star high quality cottage featuring a romantic outdoor bath with bush views. It has a loft and a straw-lined cathedral roof supported by recycled ironbark bridge beams. The high ceilings and extensive use of natural materials impart a very comfortable and rustic older-world ambience. With a queen-bed and a king-bed bedroom downstairs to choose from the cottage is an ideal romantic hideaway. The bathroom contains a flushing toilet (being an eco-retreat some of our buildings have composting toilets), shower and hand basin and adjoins the downstairs bedrooms. A large loft upstairs is normally configured with 2 king singles with room for up to 2 extra (fold-up) singles if required. Because king beds can be unzipped to make singles, a total of 3 couples (or 1 couple in the queen room and up to 4 singles) can be comfortably accommodated. With 2 X foldup beds in the loft a maximum of 8 can be accommodated if required. The kitchen area is organised for those who like to cook and socialise at the same time. The island preparation bench provides the focus for food-preparation socialising. There is sufficient crockery, cutlery and glasses for a party of 10. Chefs kitchen has an all-gas stove with a fan-forced oven, full-sized refrigerator, dishwasher-drawer and microwave. The lounge area has 2 armchairs, a 3-seater lounge and a coffee table arranged in front of a cosy potbelly stove. Book Cockatoo Room

The Cockatoo Room, when not booked for a function, makes a large economical open-plan cottage for couples, small groups and families. It is AAA rated at 3 stars. Compared with our accredited 3.5 star Cafe Cottage and 4 star other cottages it lacks the homely comforts of those cottages such as having only sofa beds (with better than standard mattresses), not a standard bed.. However what it lacks in those it more than makes up for in its views, space for games (table tennis tables available), rehearsals, yoga, dancing as well as high quality equipment. For more than 2 people we can divide the 100sqm room with partitions to make visually private sleeping compartments. The kitchenette services up to 10 people. It has a large fridge and smaller deep freeze, dish-drawer, gas cooktop, microwave, kettle and toaster. Cockatoo-as-a-cottage has an an exclusive-use shower/toilet and separate toilet accessed from the verandah. It also has internal access to a disabled toilet/bathroom from the shared-access foyer that separates Cafe Cottage and the Cockatoo Room. Accommodation guests in the Cockatoo Room also have access to a wide private verandah that has its own BBQ and outdoor furniture. Furnishings consist of two mobile (on wheels) queen-sized sofa beds, a window seat and as many stackable chairs and tables as desired. There is a wood heater inside. Guests also enjoy unfettered access to partitions, table tennis tables and table-tennis equipment, widescreen HDTV, DVD player and CD/IPOD player. Extra cost options include audio equipment (microphones, main speakers, foldbacks and mixing desk), stage lighting, rising 4.8m X 2.5m stage, overhead projector, large format screen and mirror ball. The room has two sets of bifolding windows, one of which is screened for insects.
