Abbotsford Country House

480 Yaldara Drive
Lyndoch
South Australia
5351
Surrounded by the hills and vineyards of the Barossa Valley, famous for its food and wines including Shiraz, Semillon and Reisling, sits Abbotsford Country House. It overlooks vineyards, farming country and on to the Barossa Ranges.

Enjoying arguably the best views in the Barossa and set on 50 acres of farmland, this country house retreat is run as a fully hosted, traditional and luxurious guesthouse and provides a home away from home in the Barossa for it's Australian and international visitors alike.

Nestled close behind the magnificent homestead in Abbotsford's sunken garden are two guest cottages that, like the homestead, are built in true Colonial Georgian style. Its eight, spacious, individually decorated suites, each with large ensuite bathrooms, are furnished with antiques collected over 12 years from Australia and the United Kingdom. As well as the Barossa!

Ultra premium beds, high quality linens and numerous other little touches ensure Abbotsford's guests are well rested prior to enjoying the region's world class food and wine.

Guests enjoy sumptuous, regionally sourced breakfasts and dinners in the majestic, guests-only dining room. Abbotsford's hosts can provide wines from their extensive, Barossa centric cellar and share their intimate knowledge and understanding of the Barossa region.

Abbotsford Country House is the perfect location for special occasions or that romantic night away (our first guest proposed to his girlfriend over the dinner table - she accepted!).

Abbotsford Country House continues to remain one of Australia's top 20 Fodor's Choice properties, the only fodor¿s Choice property in the Barossa and has an AAA Tourism rating of 4.5 stars.

Things To DoThings To Do

The Barossa region, whilst a relatively youthful region in comparison to many of the other great wine regions of the world, still enjoys a wonderfully rich history.

Founded predominantly by Prussian migrants in the 1880's, no other wine region in Australia has the rich European heritage of the Barossa.

Whilst mostly known for it's world-famous Barossa Shiraz and Eden Valley Riesling, it's in the area of regional produce and it's acclaimed restaurants that make the Barossa one of Australia's most significant wine tourism regions.

There are a diversity of experiences here including wine tasting, discovering regional produce, cycling, golf, bushwalking, shopping, the arts, festivals and events and more.

Add to this a stunning Australian landscape of rolling hills, manicured vineyards, and thriving towns and villages and you will see the Barossa is a distinctive, and refreshing destination.

Come for a romantic break, to relax and unwind, or for some outdoor adventure. Discover our wines and food, explore our heritage and enjoy the lifestyle. Bring your family, your friends or someone special.

A source of great pride and enjoyment to us is our ability to share our knowledge of the Barossa's food, wine and history.

Our knowledge is based not simply on living in our region but on our many contacts, built up over many years.

So whether it's a one day or one week food and wine itinerary, a personal introduction to a particular winery for a private tasting, mapping out a nature walk, arranging a hot air balloon ride or a specialist tour guide to glide you around the Barossa in style, we would be delighted to help you.

Sharing the secrets of the Barossa to our guests is our passion.
