For the energetic bushwalker, climb the hill behind the Homestead for glorious panoramic views of the Valley and rainforest gullies. For the not-so-energetic, your hosts will be happy to 4WD you to the top to enjoy the vista. Take an easy stroll through shady mango orchards during the season and handpick yourself some tree-ripened Bowen mangoes. Picnic at Amamoor Creek State Forest Park, the rainforest area of Cedar Grove or Amama Park, where you may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the platypus at play. Stroll along bushwalking tracks with sub-tropical vegetation and waterfalls. Take a leisurely drive along the Mary Valley Scenic Way and notice the diverse grazing and agricultural activities that abound, including pineapples, macadamias, mangoes, citrus, avocados and small crops.

Travelling South;

Travel south along the Bruce Highway/M1 following signs to Gympie. Pass the Centro/Woolworths Shopping Complex on your left, continue south on Bruce Highway, past the Matilda Service Station (on your right) and continue south until you see a sign indicating a turn to the right to Amamoor and Kandanga. The road you turn right into is Traveston Crossing Road.

Travelling North;

Travel north on the Bruce Highway/M1 past Eumundi/Kenilworth turnoff, the Cooroy turnoff and the Imbil/Lake Borumba turnoff until you come to the Traveston Crossing Road, on your left. Follow the Traveston Crossing Road until you come to a bridge (which is called Traveston Crossing)At this point, the road becomes Meddleton Road and is signed accordingly. Do NOT turn left at the bridge. Follow Meddleton Road until you come to a crossroad Go straight ahead at the crossroad, into Blackgate Road. Signage at Blackgate Road indicates it is the road to Amamoor. Follow Blackgate Road until you come to a Y Junction. Take the left swing of the Y Junction. You are now on Kandanga/Amamoor Road Amamoor Homestead is approximately 3 klms along that road, on the left hand side and is signed in cream and red.
