A car park is available next to each cabin and caravan/tent site Parking for extra cars and trailers is available and every effort will be made to park them as close to your cabin or site as possible
Travel Directions
Located on the New England Highway on the northern side of Tamworth is the Austin Tourist Park. GPS S 31' 06.408 E 150' 55.033 FROM THE EAST - Oxley Hwy from Walcha/ Port Macquarie. FROM THE NORTH- NEW England Hwy from Armidale/ Glen Innes The Park is 4 km before you come to the city on the left hand side opposite a Caltex Service Station. FROM THE WEST- Oxley Hwy from Gunnedah/Dubbo Head straight into the city, over the Peel River bridge, through the next two sets of traffic lights and then turn right at the third set- heading towards Armidale. The Park is approximately 4 kms from these lights on the right hand side of the road, almost opposite a Caltex Service Station. FROM THE SOUTH- New England Hwy from Sydney/ Newcastle and Muswellbrook. Head straight into the city past the Big Golden Guitar, through the next two roundabouts and then turn right at the third roundabout (Acacia Motel is on the corner). Proceed across the river flats and through the next roundabout and then turn right at the next roundabout- towards Armidale. The park is approximately 2 kms from this roundabout on the right hand side of the road, almost opposite a Caltex Service Station.
Things To Do
Tamworth is Australia's Country Music Capital with it's Country Music Festival in January each year. Country Music attractions include Walk A Country Mile interpretive centre- the story of Australian Country Music, Big Golden Guitar and the Gallery of Stars Wax Museum and the Australian Country Music Hall of Fame. Other places to visit include Powerstation Museum, Historic Calala Cottage, Motorcycle Museum, Bicentennial Park, Oxley Lookout, Endeavour Marsupial Park and Bird Aviary, Tamworth Regional Craft Centre. District attraction include the villages of Nundle, Manilla, Barraba and Bendemeer. Local kids activities include the local cinema, ten pin bowling, kid zone activity centre and a skate park.
