Quamby Homestead, located a short drive from the Great Ocean Road, Warrnambool and Port Fairy, offers the opportunity to soak up some history whilst enjoying excellent accommodation in the serenity of a 3-acre garden setting.

Scattered throughout the garden, the fully renovated accommodation includes the standard Mews Rooms and the original School and Carriage Houses. The Carriage House has two bedrooms (with queen and single beds), bathroom, large living area, kitchen and delightful private terrace garden.

The School House, where the Lindsay children were once educated, boasts a queen-size bed and ensuite with views over the dam. The five Mews Rooms have queen-size beds and en-suites and are surrounded by attractive gardens. Continental and full cooked breakfast is served in the homestead dining room by a wood fire in winter, or on a shady verandah in the summer months. Light evening meals are also now available in the Homestead Bar/Guest Lounge.

Quamby's superb gardens are the main feature of the property. Soak up the ambience, relax and enjoy, or spot kangaroo, echidna, possums, and study the historic plantings in a relaxed, private atmosphere.

Quamby is an ideal accommodation break in your travels, as it is situated between the Great Ocean Road and the Grampians, enroute from Melbourne and Adelaide, and just 20 minutes' drive from Warrnambool. Stop to draw a breath, or spend a couple of days exploring the unique volcanic coastline, and surrounding district.

Recently completely renovated, each room has a private ensuite, digital (free to air) television, wood flooring, leather arm chairs, refrigerator, tea/coffee making facilities, and split system air-conditioning/heating. You can enjoy the leisurely 2km walk around the property, spend time in the botanic garden, relax in your room, or lose yourself in the superb, Victorian guest lounge in the Homestead (equipped with digital (free to air) television and DVD player). A continental and full cooked breakfast is included in the Mews Room tariff, and is served in the Homestead Dining Room beside an open fire on the cooler mornings, or on a shady verandah in the summer months.

Mews Room - Twin

In this recently renovated former Victorian school house, you will find a queen-size iron bed, ensuite bathroom with double walk-in shower & bath, digital (free to air) television, split system air-conditioning/heating, tea/coffee making facilities, wood flooring, refrigerator and arm chairs & table at which to relax and take in the views over the property's water dams and farmland. Located within the botanic garden of Quamby Homestead, overlooking tranquil farmland, this is an ideal retreat for a family or four adults. With two bedrooms (one with a Queen bed and one with twin single beds), guests can stay in the Carriage House as a fully self-contained cottage or choose to take the a Bed & Breakfast tariff that includes a cooked and continental breakfast served in the homestead dining room by a wood fire in winter, or on a shady verandah in the summer months. The Carriage House has been recently renovated and guests will find a fully self-contained kitchen equipped with oven, stove, microwave, full sized refrigerator, cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery and glassware - all you would need for a cosy and relaxed getaway. Elsewhere in the cottage there is a family shower-room, large living area with leather sofas, digital (free to air) television and DVD player, wood burning stove, split system air-conditioning/heating and glass doors leading onto a delightful private terrace & garden.
