Thala Beach Lodge is a privately owned five star nature resort, situated 38 kilometres north of the city of Cairns and 16 kilometres south of the village of Port Douglas.
Timber bungalows are scattered amongst a hundred and forty five acres of wooded headland and secluded beaches. It is one of the world's most beautiful private beach locations.

The story of the natural history of Australia is unique and Thala nurtures this environment. Grass Trees sprout along pathways, their scaly black trunks topped with tufted grassy headdresses, stunted reminders of a land long ago.
Great sensitivity has been applied to the design to the 85 rooms. They are all deluxe bungalows, individually built high on timber poles, looking out through the canopy of trees.

ROOM FEATURES: Air-conditioning as well as ceiling fans, private verandahs, IDD telephones, TV, minibar, tea and coffee, in room safes, DVD/CD players, full height wardrobe, generous draw space, hair dryers and the bathrooms have separate shower and bath. Driving to Thala from Cairns city or the airport: Once you leave the airport you come to a set of traffic lights at the junction with the main Cook Highway, turn RIGHT at these lights and remain on this road for approximately 50 minutes. There are a total of 9 roundabouts all between the airport and Kewarra Beach, make sure that you always exit off these roundabouts on the Port Douglas/Mossman exit (DO NOT TURN OFF FOR KURANDA). After the ninth roundabout remain on this road for approximately 25 to 30 minutes it follows the coastline and is a very picturesque drive. You will pass Hartleys Creek Crocodile Farm and a small area of homes known as Wangetti, Thala is approximately 12 minutes past this point the road twists around the coastline, there are places that slower cars can pull over to the left and slow down to allow faster traffic following to pass. You will come to a sign on the right indicating Thala Beach Lodge 100 meters ahead on the right, start indicating to turn RIGHT at this stage you will then come to our entrance, drive up to the main lodge and reception area as we have valet parking. Transfers to and from the Cairns Airport can be arranged. Courtesy transfer service to & from Port Douglas available.
